Once again West Point graduate Michael J. Gilhuly (USMA
Class of 1968) has written a story of the American west
that portrays the famous law enforcement organization,
the Texas Rangers, in a true and positive light.
Following Call To Glory and Ride To Glory, this book
completes the trilogy about Texas Ranger Leroy W. Wiley
who served with the Rangers during the late 1850’s - mid
1870’s on the turbulent Texas frontier. The book follows
a company of young Rangers as they battle hostile forces
including the Comanche and Lipan Apache Indians.
This book smacks of realism. Written by a combat veteran
(Infantry officer during the conflict in Vietnam). Dr.
Gilhuly and his wife since graduation from West Point,
Marilyn, have written a story of dedication and courage
during that violent era.
Marilyn Gilhuly, a direct descendent of Leroy Wiley,
drew upon original documents from her family archives
and also from the recorded history of the Texas Rangers.
